UAE law: Dh10,000 fine, year in jail for men who harass women on the road

The UAE Public Prosecution today clarified the punishments for revoltingly attacking a female by words or follows up on a public street through a post on its online media accounts.

As indicated by Article 412 of the Federal Decree-Law No. 31 of 2021, will be condemned to detainment for a term not surpassing one year as well as a fine not surpassing Dh10,000 any male who:

1. Attacks a female in a disgusting manner by words or follows up on a public street or in a regularly visited place;

2. Masks himself in female clothing and enters a spot saved for ladies or where passage is illegal, around then, for other than ladies. Should the male execute a wrongdoing in such a circumstance, this will be viewed as an irritating situation.
