The spectacular flypast over the Dubai World Central (DWC) runway on Monday during the Dubai Airshow 2023 showcased the aviation expertise of the United Arab Emirates once again.
The world’s largest commercial passenger plane, the Emirates A380, led the formation. Next came Al Fursan, the UAE’s air show team, which formed a V shape and left behind red, green, and black smoke trails.
A Boeing 777 from Emirates, an Airbus 320 from Etihad, a Boeing 737 from flydubai, and an Air Arabia Airbus 320 followed suit in the formation, all of which soar through the skies with grace and awe, captivating the hundreds of spectators and fervent aviation enthusiasts who raised their cameras to the sky.
The Emirates A380 stayed at only a hundred metres above the ground. The Boeing 777 operated by Emirates flew at a height of 160 metres in close pursuit.
Both aircraft had Emirates’ new trademark livery, which provides a dynamic and modern visual representation whilst travelling.
This airborne accomplishment is the product of months of meticulous and cooperative planning. A wide range of stakeholders worked closely together, including many teams from Emirates and other UAE airlines, the UAE Military, the UAE Ministry of Defence, Emirates pilots, Flight Operation Managers, and Air Traffic Controllers.
Coordination with the Dubai Air Show Flying Control Committee and the aviation authorities DCAA and GCAA was another aspect of this cooperative effort. The teams worked together on many components of the aerial show, taking into account variables including weather and wind conditions, locations flown over, and air traffic patterns at different times of the day.
Even other spectators said they wanted to start saving money so they could go back to the air show.
Speaking with Khaleej Times, a few onlookers expressed their amazement at the aerial show, which came together as a consequence of teams from all throughout the aviation ecosystem working together.
Seeing the event for the first time in Dubai, a Lithuanian resident who is here on business stated, “It’s amazing, it’s breathtaking.” I’m attending the Dubai Airshow for the first time, and it’s exceeded my expectations, Aiste Ruzgiene remarked.
“Aside from the flypast, some interesting businesses are representing themselves here,” the speaker said. I’d want to return the next year.
After visiting Dubai in 2021, a Kenyan national declared that he would save money to go back for the Airshow alone.
“I came here in 2021,” Barasa remarked. I’ve done this twice. It’s astounding. I’m very glad I made the choice to come here. I enjoy flying. It was only a chance that the airshow fell on the same day that I arrived to see my buddy. I’ll reload my savings to visit the next year.
Kelsey Johnson, a Canadian expat working for a carrier located in Dubai, has been visiting this expo every year, yet she claims she still finds it fascinating.
“I’ve been attending the airshow for many years. I work in this field, hence the greatest location to visit is the Dubai Airshow. It’s a fantastic opportunity to network, meet new people, and take in everything aviation-related, including seeing pros in the field and other occupations. This place has such a wonderful vibe. These are incredible planes on exhibit.”
“The display and flypast, in which Emirates and other participating carriers participate, is my favourite part of the show.” It’s a fantastic chance to take in the ambiance and view all that they have on exhibit.
From Tuesday, November 14 to Friday, November 17, the sky will be transformed into a canvas for aerial acrobatics over the next four days. Daily hours for the free exhibits at Dubai World Center’s Skyview Grandstand are 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
