UAE: Opening date of Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi revealed

Top officials from the BAPS Hindu Mandir said that the public would be able to visit the first authentic Hindu stone temple in the Middle East in February. Representatives remarked that the “festival of harmony” will be at its largest during the inaugural festivities.

“BAPS Hindu Mandir shall be a place of spiritual solace for world peace. With this event, India’s art, values, and culture will be brought to the UAE.

On February 14, 2024, a Vedic ceremony presided over by His Holiness Pujya Mahant Swami Maharaj will open the huge temple, which is taking shape on a vast 27-acre plot of land near Abu Mureikhah. According to a statement from the temple, attendance at the “enlightening celebration of deep spirituality and faith” is by invitation only.

Indian residents of the nation will be allowed to participate in the festivities on February 15 by attending a public dedication assembly with Swami Maharaj. Registration in advance is required to participate in this ceremony.

On February 18, 2024, BAPS Hindu Mandir, which is being constructed under the direction of temple chief Brahmaviharidas Swami, will be made accessible to the general public. “Events and religious ceremonies before this day will be reserved for the registered and invited only,” the temple reaffirmed in a statement.

The UAE government allocated land for the construction of a temple in Abu Dhabi in August 2015. During Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, gave the land as a gift. The ceremony to lay the cornerstone took place in February 2018.

The pink sandstone building should survive more than a thousand years.
