Following a two-day stay in France, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s stopover in the UAE on Saturday turned out to be a crucial visit, where several important agreements were signed and negotiated.
Modi was there for the exchanging of a memorandum of understanding that permits trade in local currencies (the dirham and rupee), so lowering the expenses associated with foreign exchange, with the President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Zayed Al Nahyan. In another arrangement, a real-time communications and payment system is linked together for quicker cross-border transactions.
